His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday attended a flag-hoisting ceremony to mark His Majesty's 50th birthday in the courtyard of Raghadan Palace.

Upon arrival, King Abdullah was received by Royal Family members, the prime minister, the chief of the Royal Court and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He reviewed a guard of honor lined up to greet him.

The ceremony was attended by the president of the Senate, the Lower House speaker, the president of the Judicial Council, the director of the King's office, cabinet ministers and directors of security agencies.

Prime Minister Awn Khasawneh delivered a speech during the ceremony, in which he congratulated, on behalf of himself and his government, the King on his birthday.
