His Majesty King Abdullah received a letter from Mohammad Al Mahameed, president of the Cassation Court and the Judicial Council, in which he extended his appreciation to the King for his continued support of the judiciary. Mahameed said he will work in coordination with the government to prepare a law that guarantees the independence of the judiciary and the separation of powers among the three branches of government, in line with the King’s directives. Mahameed’s letter was in response to last week’s letter by His Majesty, in which the King asserted his commitment to promoting the separation of powers, supporting judicial reform and developing the judiciary.
