His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday highlighted the pivotal role teachers play in the education process, stressing the need to empower them economically and build on their knowledge.
The King said empowering teachers will reflect positively on the younger generation.
His Majesty and Her Majesty Queen Rania held an iftar banquet Wednasday to honour teachers from across Jordan.
At the banquet, the King and Queen were briefed on teachers’ conditions, their needs and their professional experience.
The King also spoke to teachers who work with students with disabilities, veteran educators and teachers experienced in the IT field, listened to their suggestions on how to improve the education process, enhance educators’ skills and raise their status in society.
At the iftar, Minister of Education Tayseer Nueimi said the banquet is another indicator of His Majesty’s support for educators, highlighting the important role of teachers in the education process.
He stressed that this Royal support has led to quality education, with enhanced curricula, safe teaching facilities and highly professional teachers.
Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit, Royal Court Chief Khaled Karaki, the King’s Media Adviser Amjad Adaileh and Royal Court Adviser Amer Hadidi also attended the banquet, before which the King performed maghreb prayers with the attendees.
