A Royal Decree was issued on Wednesday summoning Parliament to convene for an extraordinary session, to commence as of June 1st in order to endorse a list of 13 draft laws, along with the Lower House’s code of conduct.

According to the Constitution, lawmakers can only debate bills that are listed in the Royal Decree during extraordinary sessions.

The bills include draft laws on administrative justice, judiciary independence, the councils of non-Muslim religious sects, political parties and partnership between the public and the private sectors.

They also include the income tax, investment, juveniles, and civil service pension bill, in addition to amended laws governing renewable energy and rationing energy consumption, the Bar Association and the work of Al Amal Cancer Foundation.
