His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday stressed that the Kingdom is working to achieve comprehensive reform in all fields with the aim of realising a better future for Jordanians.
At a meeting with a delegation from the Near East South Asia (NESA) Centre for Strategic Studies Tuesday, King Abdullah said he will continue to lead the reform endeavour, which, he said, is on track to achieve the aspired-to results.
The King also said that the ongoing discussions of the National Dialogue Committee on enacting new elections and political parties laws will contribute to development by leading to better representation of all segments of Jordanian society and the formation of political parties with clear goals and platforms that address citizens' concerns.
The King also addressed regional issues, saying that the peace process is still the region's most important priority and that without a just and permanent solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, violence will increase and instability will prevail in the region. He emphasized the importance of intensifying international efforts to bring the Palestinians and Israelis back to the negotiating table in order to arrive at a two-state solution to the conflict.
Also during the meeting, members of the delegation expressed appreciation for the Jordan's reform efforts, saying that it reflects the leadership's decisive will to achieve comprehensive development. The NESA Centre for Strategic Studies is a US government institution for building relationships and understanding in the NESA region.
