King meets Mikati, reaffirms Jordan’s support for Lebanon
His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday reaffirmed Jordan’s support for Lebanon and its people in efforts to safeguard their security and stability.
At a meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati in New York, King Abdullah highlighted the historical relations between the two countries and the peoples, expressing keenness to advance them further.
Held on the sidelines of the United Nations’ 77th General Assembly meetings and attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the meeting covered means of enhancing efforts, in coordination with a number of countries, to help Lebanon address its electricity crisis.
For his part, Prime Minister Mikati expressed appreciation of Jordan’s support for Lebanon and its people.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, and Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan attended the meeting.
