His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday received Latin Patriarch of Jordan and Jerusalem Fouad Twal.

During the meeting, King Abdullah emphasised the importance of preserving Arab Christian identity in Jerusalem and emphasised the need to support Palestinians residing the Holy City. He also reiterated the need to enhance the concepts of tolerance, love, coexistence and fraternity among Muslims and Christians and to strengthen the common bonds among followers of different religions.

The King also expressed his support for Twal's efforts to spread the message of love and to preserve Christian holy sites and the Arab identity of Christians in Jerusalem.

For his part, Twal commended the King's continuous support for the church's efforts to safeguard holy sites in the Holy City.
