King meets UAE president
His Majesty King Abdullah and United Arab Emirates President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a meeting on Tuesday that covered the deep-rooted ties between the two countries.
The meeting, held at Al Bateen Palace and attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, covered means to expand cooperation across various sectors, in the best interest of the two countries.
King Abdullah voiced pride in the strength of the historical ties between Jordan and the UAE.
The two leaders expressed keenness to maintain coordination and consultation on issues of mutual concern, in service of regional security and stability.
His Majesty and Crown Prince Al Hussein attended an iftar hosted by Sheikh Mohamed in the King’s honour.
Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan, and Jordan’s Ambassador to the UAE Nassar Habashneh attended the meeting and the iftar.
From the Emirati side, UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as well as a number of senior officials, were in attendance.
