King, in call with President Abbas, reaffirms Jordan’s unwavering position towards Palestinian cause
His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday reaffirmed Jordan’s unwavering position towards the Palestinian cause, stressing the need to find a political horizon that guarantees the fulfillment of all the just and legitimate rights of the Palestinians.
In a phone call with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, King Abdullah reiterated that peace and stability cannot be reached without a just and comprehensive resolution of the Palestinian issue, on the basis of the two-state solution, guaranteeing the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state, on the 4 June 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
His Majesty also called for stepping up Arab, regional, and international efforts for de-escalation in Gaza and its surroundings, as well as pushing towards self-restraint, protecting civilians, and respecting international humanitarian law.
