King receives France president, says stopping war on Gaza an absolute necessity
His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday received France President Emmanuel Macron, and affirmed that stopping the war on Gaza is an absolute necessity that the world must immediately move to address.
King Abdullah and the French president discussed international efforts to push for an end to the cycle of violence and reach a political horizon that ends the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, guarantees security, and achieves just and comprehensive peace on the basis of the two-state solution.
In the meeting at Al Husseiniya Palace, His Majesty warned against the continuation of the war on Gaza, which may lead to an explosion of the situation in the region.
The King called on the international community to urgently pressure Israel to stop the war, protect civilians, and end the siege on the strip.
His Majesty renewed his warning of the deteriorating humanitarian crisis in Gaza, highlighting the importance of securing the delivery of humanitarian aid.
In addition, the King reaffirmed his rejection of any attempt to displace or internally displace the Palestinians in Gaza.
His Majesty highlighted France’s important role in supporting efforts to create a political horizon to achieve peace, on the basis of the two-state solution.
President Macron departed the Kingdom later on Wednesday.
